Camping Jachthaven Uitdam offers you a wonderful holiday in its own countryside full with nature and open space.

The campground is situated in a unique spot directly on the Markenmeer and on a typical Dutch landscape, just 15 kilometres from Amsterdam, near the picturesque Marken. In this superb lowland peat field area, you will find rest and plenty of open space with surrounding water, cane fields, and numerous bird species.

Due to its position directly on the open water from the Markermeer (previously known as the IJsselmeer) many types of water sport activities such as surfing, swimming, fishing, and waterskiing are possible, in which one can also quite simply sunbathe on our own private beach.

Our camping is suitable for guests that wish to stay one night or for longer periods. All holiday makers are welcome! Whether you come with a boat, car, and bicycle or by foot, we offer the appropriate accommodation.

The Camping Jachthaven Uitdam is situated on the edge of the protected “Waterland” nature area. These surroundings are the perfect place to start your daytrip by cycle, car, boat or just walking.

You can visit many different historical towns and old fishing harbours such as Marken (3.5km), Volendam (10km), Hoorn (25km), Medemblik (40km), and Enkhuizen (45km) where you will come across an atmosphere like the old Zuiderzee. See how the fishermen of the brown fleet (called this due to the colours of their sails) formally earned their living. Or take a look in the Zuiderzee museum, and let yourself be surprised by the historical surroundings.

You can also visit a typical Dutch clog factory and go to a farm where handmade cheese is still made. The Zaanse Schans (20 km) with its many windmills or a day on the beach (40km) are a part of the possibilities. Naturally one should not forget all the appealing locations in Amsterdam (15 km), with its many canals and superb houses, which indeed has something for everyone. In short you will be surprised by our historic environment.

There is an excellent public transport service that runs directly to Amsterdam Central station, with the bus stop not far from the campground.
